Ceramic coating is done to reduce the heat that said part is letting out, and also because it looks cool. It also takes longer for it to rust, but eventually it will.
You wouldnt want to ceramic coat internals, for a couple of reasons...
1. Ceramic coating would increase the parts size, ie piston bore and height, as well as intake or exhaust valves. This in turn would also increase the parts weight.
2. It would produce more friction should you coat a piston. Pistons (good ones, at least) have a coating on the pistons called molybdenum (sp) that reduces friction, and covering that should be a sin, if it isnt already.
3. For the reciprocating parts (pistons), coating them would probably through off balance, and you would have to go about re-balancing them.
