Tire-Rack sells Centric Premium black hat rotors for the 90-96Q for what seems to be a great price- $52 each for the fronts and only $41 each for the rears!!!

I am just beginning to feel brake shimmy and considering I have previously had these OEM rotors turned, it seems like a better bet to just replace them at this price than pay the labor to machine them again and end up with a thinner quicker to warp set of old rotors. At 240,000 miles I have only had to replace rotors once, so I cant really complain!

I plan on doing this in January, as I am done spending $$$ on the Q for 2009, other than gasoline!

thats pretty good especially for Q45, and not bad as far as rotors go...

assuming centric rotors are good quality (not sure?) thats a money price.

Real testament to OEM quality I hope others will see this and think twice about Autozone....parts.

But are these rotors supposed to resist rust?

Whats the thickness of these rotors compared to OEM?

These rotors have all non pad contact area coated with a finish{black} that is designed to resist rust and corrosion- according to Q45tech, T3 uses these rotors with good results. For the price, I am willing to try these and see how they compare to the stockers....worst case I throw them away in a year!!!!

What a JOKE...IOS discounted price for front brake hardware kit{ simple flimsy shims and tin pad retainers} is now $79.72 !!! What is Nissan thinking, this should be $8-12 tops!!!!!

At that price, I'll live with the brakes clicking a little when I first stop.

I highly recommend the plated and drilled Stillen Brembo that Joe has on special occasionally. Terrific long term stability with OEM pads.

Love that my stock of Nissan spares is constantly appreciating in value! Just wish I had more.

Joe has not offered the brembo plated rotors in eons.....not sure even Stillen still offers them as they gave up on the G50 quite awhile ago- Centric might be the only quality option to OEM, especially if one is looking for a non drilled/slotted blank rotor{ the best kind}

Metallurgy of the rotor material and manufacturing processes are more important than rotor configuration.

Drilling can be a liability if not done correctly and the openings not chamfered. Stillen's subcontractor does it correctly.

You keep mentioning Stillen.....have you actually confirmed they still offer rotors for the G50????/ I think they dropped them years ago.

And note they do not specify "Brembo" as the supplier of the rotor blanks, they say they get their blanks from "many sources"

time for Brian to stop talking about non existant parts!!!!!!!

I got them in my garage and on my car!

Stillen just doesn't categorize them comprehensively:

"INF2000 / INF2000 - Application Notes

1990-1996 Infiniti Q451992-1997 Infiniti J30"

Stillen handles Brembo, APRacing and I believe others.

Call Joe if you want them as he has the deal. The Brembo rotors are prepared for Stillen by a subcontractor. The J30/FGY33 rear rotors and calipers are a a nice upgrade.

My last purchase was in 2003. So not decades, but a good while in my case...

i had been wanting to try the centric premiums for a while and finally ordered some for my ls a while back. unfortunately the rears (92) came uncoated and did not match the fronts (95-00 upgrade) which were coated so i returned them (after a couple attempts at getting coated rears). i would be wary of the same thing happening with the g50 app since it's low demand.

other than that, the front rotors looked very nice. the finish on the braking surface was excellent, the e-coating was clean and uniform, and they were stamped "made in japan".

a lot of 3rd party redrillers have been using centric rotor blanks for a while.

Centric makes a cheapie rotor that is not coated and sells for less than their "premium" line of e coated rotors- the way to tell if you are ordering the premium coated product is the part number begins with 120-xxxxx, if the first 3 numbers are not 120, you are not getting the coated premium rotor!

Correct part numbers for the G50 are 120-42048 front, and 120-42049 for the rears.

"At 240,000 miles I have only had to replace rotors once, so I cant really complain!"

Obviously not a very agrressive braker since I've gone thru rotors every 40-50,000 miles since 1990. I went thru 6 sets of rotors in 240,000 miles.

Everyone has different standards of perfection.

Currently running Centric blacks all around with very good results.

Aggressive braking just proves one was not paying attention to road conditions ahead of them!!!! simple to keep eye on conditions and plan ahead to avoid panic stops......I currently have 66,000 miles on rear pads with almost 40% left. Front pads have 42,000 miles on them with aprox 50% left.
