I was thinking of this wheel for my 240 when it comes time.

The Impulse is rotary forged and 11.8lbs for the 17"x7". The site lists it as available in 4x4.5" bolt pattern with a 40mm offset. 4.5" = 114.3mm, correct?

The shiny finish I suppose could be mistaken for chrome, but I really don't care as they're very light and strong. I just need to check on pricing. Any thoughts?

They seem like a good set. 11.8 lbs per wheel is pretty good for that size wheel. The cast magnesium wheels I've been scoping are 13.2 lbs per wheel, and they're only 15 X 7's. Also, you're correct, 4 X 4.5" is equivalent to the stock 4 X 114.3mm size. The finish looks fine, I don't think it will be mistaken for chrome in the actual light of day, they tend to embellish the finishes in those "showroom" photos.

Post the price when you get it - I'm interested to see how the set I'm tracking will match up, cost-wise.

I'd love to find out if those 15's would clear a 30mm z32 caliper!

Me too...I'm digging for info about that, unfortunately everything I come across regarding these wheels seems to be in kanji and my mastery of Nihon-jin is sketchy at best. Will post if I find out.

EDIT: Haven't found anything definitive, but based on what I can see about the design of the wheel, I would say no, there is an inner "lip" where the spokes connect that looks like it would rub against the larger caliper. Of course, can't really tell for sure without putting them on, but I'm saying negatory on the Z32 upgrade.

I called them for the offset, 44mm in case anyone wanted to know.

I would have to second this simply given the fact that the Z32 wheels were 16" to start with. Why not just go with the 17's?

BTW, my local Discount Tire has quoted me $900 for a set of four, which is less than I thought it would be. I figured around $1200 for a set, if not more given that they are forged wheels. I think I will do this instead of trying to save for the Volks.

Unfortunately, they don't have the style of wheel I'm looking for in a 16" yet. Only 15 X 7. That's Watas for you...I may just wait until they have a 16" option available. Meh, or maybe not. A Z32 upgrade is off in the distant future for me and there's other braking options out there, too.

Some 15's will fit the Z32 upgrade, in fact it looks like my stock SE wheels would, since they don't have that "rib" on the back of the spokes. In comparing the two designs, tho, it doesn't look like the Wata will work.

The set I'm considering appears to be about $800 American clams, so it is in the ballpark, apart from being a lot smaller. The weight is also kind of iffy on mine, the vendor lists as 6 kg (13.2 lbs) but other sources are telling me 10.1lbs. Either way, it's an improvement over 18lbs stock alloys.

repo: nice choice! I deal with centerline quite a bit. one caveat: you may have to wait 6-weeks for them to forge the wheels for you....other than that, they make a nice product.-chet
