I'm thinking about picking up a new clutch for the CA soon, so I've managed to narrow it down to a Centerforce Dual Friction.

So, would it be wise to pick up the DF for the KA24, or the CA18ET? I've read the ET clutches bolt on to the DET flywheel without any modification, whereas the KA clutches require removing an alignment pin and/or drilling out the pressure plate.

Here's a link to the clutches on Summit Racing:

CA18ET

KA24DE

Now, the ET is rated at 120hp from the factory whereas the KA is 155hp. Would this mean that the ET clutch would not hold as much power, as it's an upgrade from a lower-hp engine? The disc is the same size, and I don't believe there is a discrepancy in the material of the two, just curious.

So, is there any reason to go with the KA clutch, except a ~$15 difference in price and that it's actually in stock? I know many members here use this clutch, but am curious as to why they go with the KA application.

Contact CF and see what they are both rated at. I wouldn't think it would be that different and since the ET clutch is supposed to bolt right up, I'd go that route.

I'm using a ca18et df on my ca-det, and dynoed @ 212whp......clutch grabs just as good as it did on my ca18et when it was making 159whp......doesn't slip at all

Yep, don't see any need to mess around with the KA clutch when you can get one that bolts on. I bet the only difference is the pressure plate, considering that the disc is the same diameter.

Awesome, just what I needed to hear! I should be making near that with my SR turbo. Thanks!
