okay so I've been wanting to buy a Dual Friction clutch kit to go in my CA18DET for a while now. It has a CA spec 12lbs flywheel, not a KA flywheel with the dowel pins removed.

Everywhere I shop for CF clutches, they list for Pulsar NX and 240sx, but not 180sx.

For the Pulsar, all listings are 1.6L (190MM clutch diameter; 13/16" - 18 Spline)

For the 240sx, naturally, all listings are 2.4L (225MM clutch diameter; 1" - 24 Spline)

So what CF clutch fits the CA18DET? I've heard the KA one fits, but in this case is it a perfect matchup or are there mods required?

Centerforce clutch for the KA will work. The only mod needed is the removal of the dowel pins on the flywheel, and you said thats done already.

Wanna buy a used CF clutch? I gots one for 150$ 90% life left.

Just the answer for which I was hoping. =)

The one you have, is it a Dual Friction and is it complete with pilot bearing?

I know the Centerforce DF clutch kits arent good for cars with a decent amount of low end torque. since the DF setup increases the clamping power on the pressure plate with higher RPM it doesnt have as much low RPM clamping power(extra weights on the pressure plate utilizes centrifugal force)

im not sure if the CA's generate any good amount of low end torque but this is just some advice.

i also have information to back this theory up. mostly on large 4cyl turbo engines with low flow characteristics so they generate alot of low end torque and not much higher end hp.

You won't make any low-end torque so its not an issue. I have the CFDF and it works fine for me. Also, its not as easy as removing a pin. The holes need to be reemed out a little bit to fit right. Takes about 2mins to do with a dremel.

No, mine is the Centerforce Stage 1 clutch. No pilot bearing.

as far as I know all of the centerforce clutches use the weight system on the pressure plate. I know my stage 2 does.

In that case, thanks for the offer but I'm really after a Dual Friction. Now that I know which one to buy, I can get it at an online dealer. Thanks for the help.
