hi all,

haven't heard the greatest things about center forces clutch, was wondering if it is at least as good as stock, if not better? Anyone with experience with this clutch, if you wouldn't mind telling me about it so far, much appreciated.

I'm not going to tune this motor, I'm pretty set on a swap, and i don't believe the clutch from a KA can be swapped into a SR or RB, can it? Naw!!

So I'm just trying to find the chepest solution for a major problem at the moment. Oh, I was quoted $680 Canadian for clutch and install, sound like a fair price?

thanks again

PauL

you should be able to get an OEM clutch for between 100-125. you can get an unorthodox stage2 clutch for 455, thats what i plan on getting when i make the change to a 5speed. you could always try to change the clutch yourself, but it should not be that exspensive to have installed, under 100.

nope, I'm in Canada, and hearing your numbers, seems like our prices are inflated. nissan wants $370 for OE unit, cluthmaster stage 1 is $340, ACT (the best) is abouit $540. Labour i was quoted $300, and this shop is good, haven't shopped around for shop yet though.

thanks for te help, much appreciated. Kinda intimidated to install it myself without a FSM, and my buddies never replaced a clutch yet.

hey Jesse, I'm not really interested in the ACT clutch, but may know someone who is. He is pushing just under 300HP to the wheels, is that clutch you mentioned able to support that power? If so, I will let him know your price, seems really fair.

I think I am going to order an Exedy OE replacement clutch off clutch city online for $140 US shipped to Toronto. Any feedback on Exedy clutches?

My work says its about a 7 hour job, is that true, or are they just tryingto take me for a ride? I'm gonna take it to my shop anyway, just curious on how long it will take, so I can calculate labour rates over here.

thanks guys

7 hours, is an awful lot.....it usually does cost a good amount for a clutch install, because the transmission has to be dropped, and your flywheel will have to be resurfaced, but 7 hours is too long...i could see like 3 or 4 hours or something, but 7 is just a long time...

i could be wrong i guess....

He is pushing 300 on the KA? If so, yea the clutch will work, if you mean he has a SR, then the transmission/clutch are different....

sorry, he has a turbo KA, SOHC motor, very impressive car, won his class at auto X (solo 1) this year I believe. Says his clutch is going, and he wants an ACT unit. Should I just give him the web site in your sig, or is there a better way of contacting you?

thanks for the insight regarding labour hours. Any word on the exedy unit? and when are we gonna session man?!? LOL

try a search on ebay for 240sx clutch if you are going for an oem clutch. a clutch is not that big of a deal to install in itself...i bought and got installed a clutch on my truck for 140. its domestic so parts are cheaper, but labor was like 50.
