Center Dash Rattle

Anyone else developed a severe dash rattle in their 07 Versa? During the last 2 months mine has intermediate to drive-me-insane bad. It seems centered around the vents in the center of the dash. A little pressure placed on the vents stops the rattle completely. It consistently starts vibrating at 70 mph.

Would repair be covered under my extended warranty? Or is it an easy DIY?

There are posts here about using foam strips between different pieces of plastic in that area, depending on which is causing the problem. I doubt it would be covered by warranty, but it should be easy to fix, if nothing has broken.

In the 170,000 miles in total our three Versa's have, I've only ever heard a rattle on certain roads and at certain temperatures. It sounds like something has come loose or broken in yours.

(I went to school in CT - where are you finding places to go over 70?!)

Noticed this on my 08 Versa last night, but it was -20 and I was going over a frozen snowy road with the texture of a washboard. Very annoying but as soon as I made it to the pavement it was gone. I seem to get a few rattles in the really cold weather, but when it warms up everything becomes normal. I must say my Versa is one of the quietest vehicles I have ever owned.

Yes, my 07 hatchback with 55,000 miles just started rattling as you describe. Very annoying, so I always play CDs, but I'd sure like to fix it. I'm not really car-savvy. Any info would be appreciated.

My center vents and my rear hatch finisher are rattling right now when it's cold in the morning. I'll add the repairs to my video FAQ list and get a repair documented for us. i'll try to get to it this month.
