Center Console Cup Holder Cover

Hey guys,

So i had my phone in the cup holder and my friend decided that it would be smart to close the cup holder cover... i tried opening it gently, but it wouldn't open.. i had to force it to open, but now... the cover won't close correctly... it seems like the back part is broken where there's a piece of slotted metal or plastic and i believe it guides the cup holder to where it should close and open properly..

does anyone know how to fix this problem??

happens to me all the time. Assuming you didnt actually BREAK anything you can fiddle with the (hinge, runner, guide) whatever you would like to call it that is CLOSEST to the arm rest. You have to push the cover (while open)) towards the passenger side and the arm of the hinge has like a C shape at the end. While the cover has a bar and you have to get the bar back into the C ex. C-

if you broke that black pin its game over, i broke mine when i was wraping my center console & it sucks it opens & closes but i gotta push harder & a replacement cup holder on courtesy nissan is 80 freakin bucks!

Yep, at least once a month... glad i'm not the only one that stores my phone or other items in there hahaha

The worst is a debit card or credit card. Gets all lodged in there. f***

I broke mine cause my phone got stuck there once. I called the dealer and told them that it broke and they replaced it for free. To let you know, it's no joke replacing that as the whole center column will need to be removed. The cup holder assembly is screwed on from the bottom at 4 points.

Ya I had my phone stuck in there until I jimmied the phone to move so it would open with a paperclip.
