Hey guys, I just found this board and thought I would check it out and sign up

I have a 2007 Altima, and the center armrest squeaks like crazy... it is so bad that I hate resting my arm there. the whole point of having the center armrest has been torn away from me

My question is, does anyone else have this problem, and is there anyway to fix it? I cant seem to figure out what two pieces of plastic are rubbing together to make the god awful noise.

Thanks

I noticed this the other day too when trying to track down my noises. Try slowly moving it back and forth! It's worse. The whole thing seems loose. I have not tried to fix it yet, so if you or anyone has a solution, please post it.

You probably have a screw loose somewhere on the bottom.

I'd say take it all apart and put it together

About a week after I got my car I noticed that pretty much my whole arm rest unit moved 3 inches to the side.

I ran some wires in my car and I fixed it as I did it. Just slide your driver and passenger seat all the way up and you will see what to me looked like buttons on your arm rest (towards the back of it near the bottom) pop those off - under them are screws. tighten these up really good and shake it to see if that was the problem. Once its solid pop the buttons back on. Hope those are the screws you are having trouble with.

I had the same problem, just tighten the screws behind the two front seats and it will fix your problem.

I tightened the screws and it fixed the side to sde motion. I narrowed the squeak down to where the black tray actually meets the center console. At the point that the release hold onto, the black tray rubs the center console causing the squeak. I don't know what to put there to avoid the plastic on plastic rubbing.

This issue should have been addressed by Nissan by now. There's a LOT of people who had those screws just pop out or getting loose me included (a few times over 2 years i have this car)There's def something wrong with those screws. TSB would be nice.

first u have to figure out from where it exactly comes from then let ur deconstruction begin. theres a lot of nooks n crannies with that center consloe... so dont go too far!
