Center Armrest Console Problem

I noticed recently looking at the padded armrest console that a small (about an inch so far) split has occurred in the padded vinyl top of the armrest. Only I drive the vehicle and it has 23,000 miles on it. I never did anything but rest my elbow on it to drive. It is really made this cheaply? I am taking it back to the dealer as it is still well under warranty. Anybody else have this or similar problem?Thanks

Hate to say it . . . they're going to tell you "normal wear and tear -- not under warranty".

FWIW, I use mine all the time and it's been exposed to plenty of sunlight as well as cold weather over 32 months and 90k miles without garaging. I looked at it after reading your post and it looks like new. I hope your dealer agrees your problem is not normal...
