I was just given a Sprint HTC Touch Pro cell phone for my birthday; I really love the phone. When I pair it with my 07 G35 sedan (with navi), everything seems great, the signal strength and battery power being displayed but when I make a call the person on the other end can't hear me and the sound through my speakers is "warbly".

I see on the Infinity website that Sprint HTC is not listed but Verizon HTC is! Anyone have any hints - I really want to keep the phone.

The phones are different - while Sprint and Verizon both use CDMA phone technology, that does not always mean the phones contain the same technology within - there could be subtle differences.

Try unparing the devices and then pairing back again - sometimes the paring can be funky.

Also, check your bluetooth settings as well - make sure your speaker volume is set properly on the phone and car, and make sure that your phone is set the way you want it. I would also try a handsfree bluetooth headset on the side just to make sure the phone's bluetooth module is working properly.

Bluetooth has nothing to do with CDMA or GSM. In theory, Bluetooth devics should all work similarly in terms of pairing. How they use the pairing is where some differences can be found. Best to test with other bluetooth headsets. If you haven't successfully used another phone with the G's bluetooth, then try that as well to make sure its not a problem with the G's bluetooth itself.

I wasn't trying to say that CDMA and GSM have anything to do with the bluetooth - I was moreso trying to elude the fact that the same phone on a CDMA network and a GSM network could be very different - such as the Razr or some blackberries. I was referencing the fact that even though sprint and verizon use the same style network, the phone could be different on each network.

Typically, if there are differences it is usually software related changes. On occasion, some hardware changes do exist (The Verizon version of Samsung's Omnia has 3G <EV-DO> capability while the unlocked version only has EDGE), but its unlikely that the Bluetooth operation would change. At least in terms of how it handles voice capabilities.
