So I've had my 89 240sx Hatch for awhile now. I'll go through a short history before I get into where I am at with this now. I got the car almost 4 years ago now. I bought her from a buddy for 300 bucks to get it out of his garage and I was in need of a car as I wrecked my 93 Honda Civic Del Sol Si. Here is a picture when I took her to the shop to get a ka24e installed since it had a rod through the block of the original motor.

She was pretty clean. My friend bought her from florida 3 years before I got her from him and he didnt even drive the car but a couple hundred miles the whole time he owned it. HEre is a shot the first time the car ever made in my driveway.

I loved this car and had found nico by this time and started dreaming of different things I could do to it. Not having alot of spare money floating around at the time and this is what I came up with.

Image

Not even close to a good set of wheels for this car. Well I saved for awhile and got a bunch of goodies and was ready to get this thing rolling.

Silvia front was the first thing I put on as we figured it would be the easiest part to tackle and I didnt have but one day off.

Next we did 300zx brake upgrade with brembo blanks and five lug with 18" rota p45r 9.5" wide with +12 offset. I had my sr20det on an engine stand as I was giving it fresh gaskets and the what not. No pics of this except on facebook and I dont wanna dig those up. Will later if anyone wants to see it.

Next was I wanted to get my car painted but funds were low so to make sure I'd like white we went an got spray paint and went to town with the cans and it came out ok for not knowing what we were doing. Next I ended up meeting a guy who does paint and body work and was resonably priced and work was great. So I had him do my wheels from black to championship white with purple pearl in them and a royal purple lip on the outter edge. he also did my 300zx calipers in purple with white lettering. After that I had moved to ohio so progress stopped as I settled in and waited to bring my car there. Here is how she sat in my garage in ohio. Was gonna do my sr swap.

Well my buddy who lived here who had my car while I was over in ohio had toasted the paint on my wheels pretty bad so I got them powder coated back to black and my calipers were redone once again in red with white lettering. Stuff was all tore apart and again I was moving but this time back home.

Got home and got my car to my buddies shop where this time it was going to get put back together and ready to roll without a hitch. So the tear down really began.

Finally had the KA out and I could see progress finally coming along. Next was to tear stuff out of the engine bay.

got as much as I needed out of the bay and started taping

Next was time for the paint and body guy Matt for future references.

There it is the engine bay was done and ready to get put back together and finally get the heart transplant She has been waiting on.

Here is where the wheels and coilovers were fitted on.

Car back on ground and the paint on the exterior has been started to be stripped. We were doing it this way as too remove the factory paint and my layers of spray paint primer and white spray paint and for the best blank canvas we could get.

Image

Some more work I have done in the engine bay like undercoating the frame and other pieces and to give it a cleaner look. This will be by no means a show car so I didnt feel the end to paint these. It will be driven and probably slightly abused.

Image

Horrible picture but this is how she sat where I havent had much time recently to get to going on her again.

Newxt is getting the sr in and my j30 diff. Once it is in and running we will finish the body work and paint. Goal is to have it all together by mid april. Was going to build the sr but have decided factory SR will do as I have my sights set on something else and will not dump any more money into her for now. Going to try and get more work done and get progress going yet again. Thanks for reading. Comments are welcome

Looks like a pretty good start.

You should try and get some more full body pictures in better lighting..

But not too shabby

I'm going down there in a little bit so I will def try to get some better shots but it might be hard as its kind of tucked into the corner of the shop now as we are at a stand still until I put the motor and what not in. and my front bumper is back off again as he is going to paint the pieces at his work in booth for the sake of ease.

Its also really hard to do the color justice but it is off a 2010 Mazda 3 and its called celestial blue. Was gonna to do Nissan pearl white wko then was going to do a 350z blue then my buddy had this paint laying around right after he sealed my bay. I was kidding with him putting it on and he kinda gave me the are you serious look so we did it lol.
