p1400 - egr solenoid - doesn't open and/or closep0443 - vacuum leak/ carbon canister issue

check courtesy parts for illustrations ( http://www.courtesyparts.com/m....html part#14950 in 2nd pic for vacuum piping) to give you a better idea and fsm for fix procedures.

do you know what are the symptoms? My car has been driving like s*** lately it feels like it doesn't pull anymore... extremely sluggish. I changed the two front o2 sensors, intake filter, oil still drives like a piece of crap.

If your EGR is stuck open, you're going to be idling pretty rough, most likely. if it's stuck closed, that will mostly affect emissions.

If you have a vacuum leak at idle, that's also going to mess up idle smoothness. If its a pretty good leak, it could cause an overall lean condition which would hurt performance.

In general, there are a couple of things that could be happening....if there is an intake leak it may make one or more cylinders run lean, causing some misfiring. Also, if your EGR ports are blocked up in the intake manifold, some cylinders are going to run lean.

I would try to track down any vacuum leaks, clean out the EGR ports in the intake manifold, and make sure your charcoal cannister is working right.

^^^he's right about the charcoal canister however...

...your egr valve open/closed won't affect anything but a vacuum leak will. get a vacuum tester ( they're cheap ) and check if there's a problem - might just be a hose that slipped off a fitting that you've missed.

the egr only recirculates some of the exhaust back into the intake (to cool down the combustion chambers) and a lot of ppl get rid of it completely (no adverse/any effects except for a cel). a lot of times the metal egr tube is clogged - you can clean yours out or get a new one.
