alright, before i get flamed, ive searched, and no significant info is out there.

Since ive owned my 95 5spd 240, ive had a check engine light on, a buddy of mine just used his code scanner at his dads shop to tell me what it is, a detonation code (34 from my consult)... said it was probably the knock sensor. that was about 10-12 months ago, its still on, since ive done a 248/248 swap... and thats about it. just wondering, is WILL affect my ign. timing right like a limp mode? and will it make a noticable power difference by actually replacing the knock sensor? and this will effect my MPG right, considering it wont really do a complete burn if its too retarded.

(sorry im asking like 20 questions in one post)

if it was yur knock sensor you would be in limp mode.. causing your car to run like ****. Get more professional opinions, and is your car doing anything unusual while driving?

well, theres dozens of things about my car that are "unusual" but it runs pretty normally, i think my ignition timing is snafu... cause with the tps disconnected idle rises from about 1100 to 1880 and moves from 10btdc to 40btdc which are both wrong... unfortunatly i already got the most professional opinion im gonna get, and thats to replace the knock sensor.

actually, thanks i appreciate it. this forum has been alot of help to me, i turned the timing back, consult is still reading ~30 btdc, and the timing light is off a little... but when i turned it back, the new idle without the tps is about 1400 rpm, still way off but better... so im taking a look at it tonight...

dear lord, after i found that idle screw i had to turn it WAY down... got it timed perfectly, but in the same respect i had to break something. i broke the top bolt on the distributor (one of the two you have to loosen to change timing) crappy nissan bolts...
