OK, i took my 03 g35 coupe to autozone to see what the code is all about and the hand held wont read. he said it was probably the cigg lighter or something that has a blown fuse for it to not the the codes...so i took it back home and checked every single fuse there is...all batt terminals and all....didnt find anything wrong! but the cigg lighter acts up alittle...you have to twist it around for it to light up. could it just be the lighter it self? how do i go about replacing it?

and the car kinda studders through gears...and the cel is on...wondering if its the o2 sensors?

thanks for the help

Lighters don't cause the engine to run funny. Take it to a Nissan dealer and have them pull the code. I wouldn't trust AZ to know what they are doing. The change oil, probably poorly.

+1 will not cost anything for an estimate at a dealer. Either Nissan or Infiniti dealer should be able to help you.

yall got it wrong...the cigg lighter is whats making the hand held code reader not pic anything up...took it to three diff places and they say the same thing...they said might be a fuse...but all fuses check out! something about the obd2 it wont pick up codes if theres a blown fuse in the car...but nothings blown. cant figure it out...and infiniti wants $75 to just look at it...maybe the cigg lighter dont work period? cuz its hard to get to light sometimes.

Yeah, OBD2 port runs on the same connection as the cig lighter. Go through the FSM and determine which fuses are utilized?

its good that the light went off...

but you will still have a logged code in the ECU if you can read it. Have you checked both fuse boxes? There is one by the battery and one under the drivers side kick panel

ya checked them all..by the battery and by the kick panel...all are good and everything works...I'll try a third time at another autozone to see if it reads before I come out of pocket almost ahundred bucks just for them to tell me something I prob already know.

I'm thinking it's 02 sensors...I'm running a short ram and straight pipe from cats back..it just turned 115,000 so I need to replaced some things

took it to dealership...turned out to be a dirty mafs..and a clogged blowby hose or something like that due to the short ram...all cleaned and rest lean on car...all for $140
not bad...thought it would be 02sensors

thanks for all the help

There is a way to get the codes without a code reader as well...in the event this becomes a problem.

you want to use a watch for timing, i use a video on my phone and just watch the time on there, but this is the process:

1. Turn igntion to ON position (dont turn engine on)
2. Wait 3 seconds
3. Depress gas pedal fully 5 times within 5 seconds
4. Wait 7 seconds
5. Depress and hold gas pedal down for 10 sec(if you are watching a clock it should be right at 15 sec after you started)

The SES light will start to blink. The first series of blinks will be 1 sec each, subsequent series will be 1/2 sec long with pauses in between series. You need to count the # of blinks for each series. 10 blinks = 0.

for the code P0335 (crank position sensor) you would have:
10 blinks (1 sec for each blink)
PAUSE
3 blinks (1/2 sec for each blink)
PAUSE
3 blinks (1/2 sec for each blink)
PAUSE
5 blinks (1/2 sec for each blink)
PAUSE

Its best to use a piece of paper to write down the number that you come up with.
Repeat the process to verify you counted correctly.

If you have multiple codes it will continue blinking the next code right after the first. If you only have one code it will continue to repeat that code.

At this point you can reset the engine light as well by then depressing brake pedal for at least 10 seconds then turning the ignition to the OFF position.

me and the tech drove around all day with his hand held and it's showing lean on bank 1 and 2... we took it back flushed the injectors..cleaned the mafs and other things..check fuel presure...and it's still studders while drinving in same banks...we both stomped

it's not the 02sensors or fuel pump..yall have any clue? lol
