My son has my old Y33, a 1998 model with 69,000 miles. He is away at college and called this evening to report a CEL. No other symptoms apart from him noticing that the Q is taking longer to start during the last few days. Last week he mentioned that he thought he could smell gasoline

Any thoughts on where to start.

It's OBD II. Hook up a sensor and get the codes.

Got FSM? TSB? You need them if you don't.

My son who is in college in Buffalo (I am in MA) took it to an Infiniti dealer to have it diagnosed. They ran a Consult and advised him it was a vent pipe and canister. $90 for the diagnosis and estimated $325 to fix. What are these parts and are they are DIY proposition. He will be home for Thanksgiving so if I can get the parts I can do it for him
