CEL lights up only while in gear with clutch engaged... wtf?

and my computer is still throwing a VSS code. i replaced the vss sensor, and the overdrive switch, and i thought the overdrive switch got it. guess not. the CEL came on right in the middle of the smog test. AAAAAAGGHH!

anyone know why the CEL is turning on? its only when my foot is off the clutch in gear. when i go to shift or stop at a light it turns off.

Did you check the circuit before you bought the VSS?? or did you just throw parts at your car??

i checked the wires and connections visually.

at the moment i dont have the proper electrical testing equipment.

i know, i know. go get one, use it.

i hate multi-meters. and wiring ****e.
