hi, this is my problem on my 1995 S14 240sx.

first - the problem itself...

okay, i have the error codes 34 and 105, i clear it with the screw-turn method on the ECM. at this point, my car is cooled down and i start it up and drive it around. it drives without tripping any error codes for about 10-15 minutes. then the check engine light comes on and it stays on. i can clear it, and start driving immediately, but when the car is warmed up, it usually comes on quicker- maybe about ~5 minutes.

error code 34 is a knock sensor error, and 105 is the egr control solenoid thingy. i measured the voltage at the knock sensor harness, and it measured 5V and across the egr control solenoid was 12V. i tried measuring across the opposite end of the harness for both of them and they had no voltage and infinite resistance as far as my volt-am meter was able to tell.

all this crap started about the same time that i ran my car with low engine oil - (don't ask, i don't know how it happened... too busy i guess)

question 1:where the heck is the egr control solenoid? (detailed pictures please, i've already tried to find it using the chilton's manual and by feeling around with my hands)

question 2:anyone know how to fix this?

ps. disconnecting the two harnesses does not fix the problem... damn

thanks a bunch

if you need any other info, please let me know

1) Back of the head...follow the vac lines that come off the EGR BPT valve (looks like a silver disc, on the rear of the intake mani).

2) Test to see if it's functioning (you'll need an FSM)...if not, replace it.

Same goes for the knock sensor....and it's located under the intake manifold, on the block. Hard to reach with the intake manifold on the motor.
