I have a 99 max....The cel code has been coming on and off for the past month. According to the code, the car is mis-firing on the # 1 cyl. I have changed the plugs and the ignition coil for the # 1 cyln.....still no dice ...car is sluggish at speeds under 40 mph. Any suggestions for a Nico newbie ?

welcome to nico. Your code could be generated by a couple other things. you already replaced the coil for the rear passenger side position which is your #1 coil so that eliminated the most common problem. The other 2 common problems are #1 the harness where it stretchs from the right hand strut tower to the engine. try wiggling that and see if your miss goes away. if it does you need to get in there and find the broken wire. having the service manual for that would make it much easier. the other posible cause is the injector. you need to ohm check it and see what it reads at.
