CEL = code 32 and hissing noise, what should i do ?

so when i first bought the car the CEL was on. i took it to the mechanic and he ran the obd scanner for me. codes 32 and 14 popped up. i didnt really want him to fix anything yet because id like to try and save some money and do it myself if possible. anyways, i finally realize that theres a hissing noise, probably air leak somewhere, when i popped the hood to check my coolant. so i go closer to the egr side of the engine and its pretty audible, i go to the other side of the car and its not as much, probably because of the fan is pretty loud though.

oh, and even when im in the car i could hear it. windows closed and no radio, at idle.

32 = EGR

14 = Vehicle Speed sensor

The EGR system probably has a leak somewhere, thats probably where the hiss is coming from. Look for a frayed hose, or broken rubber hose.

yeah, i know which codes are which...

and new discovery... for some reason when i press in the clutch, the hissing sound goes away... what could that mean. or what could that relate to ???
