I have diagnosed it as number 6 injector that is bad. It ohmed something really crazy. I kept checking it and checking it and have concluded that's what it must be. I ohmed it at the injector and the harness. Ohming at the injector takes some contortion!

My question is(and I know the answer), is it worth it to get Infiniti remans of injectors? Shouldn't I do it right and call Joe and buy them new? I have this fear that they will start dying in rapid succession.

Since this is on the passenger side do I only have to unbolt the plenum and lift it up enough to remove the injector or should I plan on removing it?

This is the first thing that has gone wrong in 2 years of ownership but I knew it would happen one day. I'm not to worried about the knock sensor code as I think they have been bad since I bought the car.

Any insights are appreciated!

I ordered the injector from Infiniti of Scottsdale. Oh wait, am I talking to myself?

Anyone done this recently(or enough) that could share anything insightful?

I replaced two - bought them from Joe... now (a year later) suspect others are bad. But jury is still out.

I just levered up the plenum in the front. If the plenum hoses are original, it will be a challenge to just get them off- nevermind keeping them from cracking.

As I understand it, you can have good resistance and a bad injector... pintle is corroded or fouled.

Once you loosen the plenum, guard the intakes... stuff a rag in each and WATCH those little bolts. Drop one in there and it will F up your day.

So this morning I start the car and no engine light. It accelerates fine and the only thing I can tell is that the idle is low. It appears to idle around 450 in D when at a stop with the engine hot. Should I still replace the injector? Can a bad injector really come back to life?

Did you test it's resistance again?

You should be worried about the KS and under plenum hoses.

Yes the resistance is still bad. Well it turns out that I stripped the inside screw holding the metal cover on the fuel injector. So I'm 4th down and punting. I put the plenum back on and all the hoses and correctly torqued it down. It really wasn't that back. So now I am discussing with my wife whether we will spend the money for the KS and plenum hoses and go at it again when I can actually take the plenum off completely and drill(carefully) out the screw.

I have thought about selling it with the injector as is but include the new injector, but haven't come to that decision yet. I just can't believe how much better the car runs with a new air and fuel filter and PCV! The fuel filter and PCV looked to have been original. I'm excited to think how fast she would be with the new KS and injector.

Thanks for listening...
