Well, It's just in the beginning stage's but I figured everyone love's a couple pictures right? I just picked this motor swap up locally and am figuring out what else I am in need of.I've already helped swapped one ca18det into my friend's s13 and he's going to help me with this swap. My plans are to keep the motor stock and get it running good and then focus on wheel's and suspension. My car has coil-over's, full poly- bushing kit and a helical type lsd as it is. Setting it up for auto-x.Also painting the engine bay and the car while it's down for the winter.

Looking good! I'm gonna tell you right now that your turbo is probably toast. It looks too stock to be in good shape.

Glad you are going to get it running in stock form first. Too many people try and go all-out from the beginning and nothing ever works right.

Do yourself a favour a slap an used SR turbo on there while she's out. Run stock boost, you will be fine.

Yes, I plan on putting an SR turbo on, but I'm not sure if I'm going to wait or just swap the motor in. The stock turbo is actually in decent shape, no in and out play and very minimal side to side play, but I definitley plan on going with an SR turbo at some point regardless. Anyone know where I could get my hands on the coil harness? Mine's missing the #1 coil connecter. Oh and a picture of the clutch that came with the motor...

I've got a power steering pump with bracket I'm trying to get rid of. It's just sitting on the living room floor. Shoot me an offer.

If the turbo doesn't have any in and out play, it's fine.

That clutch looks prime. Should last a long time. (hey that was a rhyme!)

Hey the coil connector can be grabbed off another nissan harness, if you look for a few minutes you can find one with the same size and number of pins. Just make sure it has a wire at each pin the old one should. Colors don't matter for operation as long as the wiring path is correct. I can't remember offhand which connectors are the same but I am nearly sure the ka24 motor harness will have something to use. This is why I have box after box of harnesses, easily found solutions. I am about to go out to work I will let you know.

The harness for the coil's? I'm pretty sure the ka harness won't work as it's dis. ignition and the ca is coil on plug. matter of fact, that's plain silly now that I think of it, I'd be trying to use ka plug wires lol.

Oh duh you meant just the connector, I should have read more closely. Yeah I've got a sohc and a dohc spare harness, so I might have something. Thanks!

The matching plug style will be either the tps sensor plug or the O2 sensor plug from the ka24e harness. You will need to put a bigger wire in the center pin by pulling the pin and wire out carefully and soldering on a 14 ga. wire then putting it back in.

Update:Got the engine bay painted, I used truck bed liner on the frame rails.

Got to get that pesky battery tray out and weld in some sheet metal, it's pretty well rusted through.

Well, it's my buddy's car.He plans on all forged internals(383 stroker), I'm not sure what kind or any more spec's on the internals. He isn't sure on what turbo(s) he's gonna run yet. He is thinking some where along the lines of a t3/t4, but again not sure on much yet. We're pulling the motor and sending it to the machine shop before any parts are ordered. He has a shop lined up to tune it that deals primarly with boosted LS1's, so it shoud be sick.Yeah, it should go alright. It had like 370 at the wheels before, so we'll see what it has in the spring

I keep telling him my ca is gonna smoke his camaro, but he just won't believe me

I now remember why I prefer working on my 240 over other cars.Got the motor out of the Camaro today and I must say, it was a beast.Drop the sub-frame and fight with wiring harnesses shoved between the firewall and motor, which is half-way under the dash. Non-the-less, it is out, and heading to the machine shop Monday. Setting it up with some low compression pistons and a 383 stroker kit.

As it stands, the ca in my 240 is very close to running, or better yet, turning over. Picking up a downpipe and fmic tomorrow. Then it's just a matter of some wiring and lot's of crossed fingers.

Intercooler and piping mocked up, waiting on a 90 degree reducer elbow to mate the intake up. Progress is a little slower than I'd like to see, but what can you do. Got a down pipe, not realizing the sr down pipe wouldn't work with my ca o2 pipe. Just assumed it would since that's what my friend's ca has, but come to find out he has a sr o2 pipe. Oh well's, my buddy has an extra sr o2 pipe, just going to be a pain to take off and install.

Oh and progress report on the camaro, bottom end is built waiting on special order heads to go with the setup my buddy is running.

looking good. The IC setup doesn't seem like it'd get as good as airflow as if it was front mounted and might heat soak, but thats just me..

I had mine like that it it worked alright. I had a silvia conversion and ducted all the air from the bumper grilles and between the headlights through the intercooler, so that improved it's efficiency A LOT.

I don't think heat soak will be an issue, as this is how a lot of factory set up for turbo applications are like diesel trucks. I have a plan for the bumper to flow air better and the fan pulling should take care of it. I like the shorter i/c piping and we'll see how it works.

Got everything situated and tried starting her. No luck. Crank but no fuel/spark. Have to pull out some wiring diagrams and diagnose it in the morning.

Oh I've told him that. He isn't really into the idea, but hopefully I can change his mind once he rides in my car lol.
