did it jam when it was reading it or when it was changing it? It sure sounds like it jammed when it is reading.

I had the same thing happen on my '05 about six months ago. Dealer could not fix so they took it out and replaced with a new one.

They sent the old in to Clarion and had them remove my CD's. They sent the CD's to me about two weeks later by Fedex.

Now I have no idea if the dealer really couldn't fix it or just replaced because it was under warranty. I didn't care because I got a new one so I didn't ask.

Several years ago when I had my J30, I sent in the head unit to a company in Florida that did an EXCELLENT job repairing it. I never had a problem after that. I think they were factorycarsterio.com but I can't remember. I just remember that they were professional, reasonably priced and quick. You might try a search on google for the place.

that would be cheaper than the dealer that is for sure.

Keep us posted.

scratch that it is carstereohelp.com and the company name is factory car stereo repair, inc. I highly recommend them and they do great work.

Their website should give you instructions to remove it and them take it to a UPS or mailboxes, etc. store get insurance and send to them.

Just my $0.02.

The problem is the cd player. I've had to change mine twice. It is made by Clarion and they seem to be very cheap. Infiniti did change thier policy about the cd's. You used to have to pick them up. Now they do send them to you like the other post said. i got mine in about 1 week from the time I had my cd player replaced. They told me that they have to send it in for thier technicians to take it apart.

infiniti should learn not to use cheap things. after all they end up paying more and they ruin their reputation zozoka

Given how many people have already said ditto to this issue, I guess it wouldn't be shocking to learn that mine did it too. The problem is the type of CD, different CD's have different edges on them, which can cause the CD to get jammed. I think it's mainly with CD-R or burned CD's.

Called dealer, $300 to attempt a repair (Rip off! ). $600 to replace it.

If the car is under warranty, replace it. If not, either go third party (like the website the guy gave a couple posts up), or buy an MP3 player and plug it into the tape deck.
