Please help!!!! I am a owner of a 2003 G35. My 6-disc changer is not working. It makes this chimming sound as if the cd is stuck. Is there any way to fix this without payn 2k to have it fixed?

Have you tried pulling the fuse that powers the stereo, and starting the car. Then try replacing the fuse after you shut off the car. Might reset any "glitch" that could be wrong. (turning on the car, only verifies that the correct fuse was pulled)

Just curious, what CDs are in there? Burned or "off the shelf"? I've heard some "burned" ones are thicker than the off the shelf and thus get stuck. Look for some small print in your owners manual warning against using them.

You need to take it to a dealer...the head deck is toast. A Bose/Clarion repair shop can do the same thing. It's a known issue with the 03-04 decks.

Yeah I did.. I also removed the negative battery cable to, to try and reset the radio... when I pulled the fuse the radio still worked and I could still hear the noise....

And the CDs are both store bought and burnt cds...

Will that work if you have navigation on the car?

it should i dont see why not as long as u have a satellite button u should be able to use it unless u have something in that pocket haveing that pocket makes it alot easier to do everything. but check out mp3car.com and they will let u know if it does or not and they also have several diffrent adapters. so they have to have one that works with navi. hope it helps and good luck. email me if u have any questions.

I believe the cars with NAV use that spot for the DVD player that goes with the system.

Hello, I can repair your CD problem in that unit. If you find the dealer to be way overpriced I can repair that unit for $225 + Shipping with a year warranty.

My Story:

After dealing with multiple problems with my CD/AC unit in my G35 for about 6 months, I took this offer from George at Short Circuit Car Audio repair.

Here is the list of my problems fixed by Short Circuit Car Audio Repair: 1. CD's we stuck and not playing 2. The AC unit would all of the sudden turn on and there would be no way to turn it off nor could I change the temperature or the any other radio/AC/CD functions like volume. 3. The radio display would die off from time to time

This is how it works:You fill out a problem sheet (this is located on http://www.shortcircuitrepair.com forms section) detailing all of the unit problems and send out your radio/cd unit along with the problem sheet. They fix it and send it back.

My experience:I sent my radio out via USPS, it arrived 2-3 days later to San Jose, CA . I spoke to George on the phone. The radio was fixed 1-2 days later and I had it back in my car within 10 days total time out of the car, I had it shipped via UPS groung but it's up to you how to ship back. By the way, I live in Philadelphia, on the other coast!

My recommendation:These guys are great as far as price, Service and even the warranty. I give them 10 out of 10 and recommend anyone who is having issues with their stock radio to deal with this company.

Thank you George and ShortCircuitRepair.com for your help, I now have my CD, radio, and AC working smoothly!!

I had the same problem (own an 03 G35 sedan). This is a known problem with the radios/cd players in this car. I took my car to the dealer and the service guy informed me that this is such a common problem that Infiniti has insitituted an exchange program. Infiniti charged me $280 to replace the current radio/cd with a re-built one. $280 included parts and labor. Supposedly they will mail me the CD's that were stuck in the player at some point, but haven't received them yet (has been about 2 weeks). Also, if your car is still under warranty, I don't believe you will be charged anything.......my car was not under warranty.

Almost forgot........my battery was also running down regularly. I didn't put the timing of the CD-player-problem and the battery-problem together, but it turns out that the CD problem was causing an electrical circuit to stay open, even after the car was switched off. So if I ever went out of town for a couple of days, or just didn't use my car for a couple of days, I'd come back to a dead battery. The dealer immediately knew that the two issues were related, so this is also a known issue for this car. I have had no further battery problems since the radio/cd was replaced.

Hope this helps!

I went to Nalley (used to be Troncalli) in Decatur. If you go there, talk to Tyler, he is great, very knowledgable, friendly, etc.

I too share in your pain...going to the dealer tomorrow given I'm not interested in replacing the nav.
