Has anyone tried those "Nissan Certified" cd service manuals that i see so frequently for sale on e-bay? I was thinking about getting one, since 20 bucks for the cd sure beats 80 for the book, but again i thought i would ask if anyone had tried it for the 240sx. Thanks a lot for the info.

I've never seen the official Nissan CD FSM's on Ebay, but I've seen plenty of crappy bootleg copies. AFAIK, the Nissan CD's are only available for newer model cars. I was told that they do not have them for my '93, but I'm not sure what the cut-off year is.

From everything I've read, I'd avoid the cheapo fake CD versions. They are usually just poorly scanned pages in PDF form. IMO, ~$80 will be worth it for a real FSM. I just ordered mine from Nissan a few days ago.

Besides, it's easier to read the paper FSM while you're in the head.

I don't know if this is the same as what they are selling but here is an s13 and s14 fsm you can download for free. Even better price than ebay. but some things are different between what we in america have and what they show in the book but like I said it is free.

Yea, I actually downloaded the FSM for an ADM (Australlian Domestic Market) SR20DET equipped S14. Pretty useful if you have a SR, I have KA myself. I just use it as a reference whenever I work the body and trim on my S14. I say just save up and purchase the FSM manual itself. It'll pay for itself in the long run.

I guess a moderator took down the web site which is cool if that is what happened or I forgot to post it but if you need it send me an email.

.Someone on the Amarok list bought a cd-rom off Ebay just to see what it was. He said what he recieved was better than Chiltons, that it appeared to be genuine Nissan material, but it was not the full FSM. He also said the seller was very slow and unorganized.

As far as I know, a FSM for the 240sx does not exist on cd-rom. http://www.CourtesyParts.com sells a couple dozen cd-roms, but the 240sx is missing from the lineup.

I have a few 240sx cd service manuals left that include the 93-98 240sx, s13, and s14 all on the one disk. The disk has over 1800 pages and includes diagrams. My best friend used it on her 95 240 when she had the KA24det and now she is using it for her SR20det swap. She has purchased a few on ebay and they have been crap but she loves this cd. Its the cd the Nissan factory uses. If anyone is interested drop me an email. I have about a dozen left.:icesangel

Just got my "official" paper copy of my FSM. It's excellent. Everything you need to know about your 240SX is in there, with the exception of part numbers. Of course, that's what a parts catalog is for.

Anyway, it's worth $73 IMO...save that $20 you were going to spend on a Haynes or Chiltons book. This is really all you'll need. I can't wait to get it all greasy and dog eared.

The engines contained within the cd are the CA18det, KA24det, and the SR20det. The cd contains bolt-by-bolt assembly/disassembly, body panels, transmitions, wiring diagrams, electrical, EVERYTHING that a dealer ship would need to know if they were working on your car. I hope this clears this up for yall and thanks for bringing it to my attention.:icesangel
