I had this problem as well, and ended up removing the changer from the trunk to solve it. There is a little latching tab in the mechanism that you need to be able to press to release the cartridge. IF I remember correctly, I used a table knife and just slipped in under the botom of the cartridge about 3/4 inches from the bottom right edge-- gently--- and that tripped the latching mechanism and let me get the cartridge out. I cant remember if I inserted the knife from the front or back, but it is a finesse operation, and NOT a FORCE!! procedure. [Its possible you could get the cartridge out using the knife while its still mounted, but tougher to see what you are doing].
Once I got the offending cartridge out, I realized(comparing it with several others I had) that the little tabs that the machine uses to push the cd s in and out of their slots did not slide easily on the stuck one. So I just took it out of service and used the ones that worked better.
You could be having a problem with the player detecting the cd burner discs, but my son has the changer filled with discs he's burned and hasn't had a problem since I changed to the cartridge that is mechanically easy to operate by hand.
