CD player won't eject or load

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

HappyNew Year!

Bought myself a couple new CDs. I pressed the LOAD button and the system flashed the green light. I couldn't get the dang stickers off the case on time and then the deck stopped waiting for me. (Normal) But when I was finally ready to try loading it again, pressing the LOAD button didn't do anything. So then I tried to click eject (5 of 6 discs were loaded) and nothing happened other than a message saying "please eject disc"? Press eject again and for a split second it says "Ejecting Disc"...but then nothing happens and the message goes back to "please eject"....

I have tried waiting overnight. I tried unplugging the battery too. No changes. Maybe I did not leave it unplugged long enough?
the strange thing is that this same scenario happened to me two years ago and then one day the disc just ejected after a day or two and I don't remember doing anything special.

Does anyone know about this or what I can do to eject or reset the unit?

Thanks!

One of two scenarios.
1. One of the cd's you put in was warped or otherwise defective. The only way to get the cd's out is to pull out the unit and take it apart.
2. Hardware failed. Essentially your cd unit is kaput. The only way to get the cd's out is to pull out the unit and take it apart.

There are 5 loaded and I think they are all OK since they were all playing previously.

One thing I didn't mention was after I unplugged the battery and re-connected, the player didn't show any CD's installed, yet still wanted me to eject. Prior to unplugging battery, the player still showed 5 of the 6 installed.

I would think the CD player was bad IF it hadn't done this to me once before (about a year or more ago)... Unless anyone else has some ideas, I might just hope for time to heal it again, but my hopes are not super high...

Patience has its rewards. I still had the problem this morning and read all the G35\G37 info I could find.... at lunch time I went out to my car and held the eject button down for about 60 seconds. Nothing changed. ... But later when I was leaving work, I pushed the CD button again and everything was perfect again....like I never had a problem...
I suspect that holding the eject button down did some sort of re-set / re-boot. Just happy it works again.
