It wont blow them but it will sound like garbage You will indeed need to replace speakers Try a professional audio shop... circuit city tends to have high schoolers in the garage

so fueler Im thinking of getting a pioneer or sony deck with bluetooth, so your saying Id have to replace all the speakers including the ones on the front pillars! fagetaboutit! yikes man lol the system sounds great as is but Id like a nice head unit...then again its a nice pain in the butt taking my gps AND that out of my truck every night when i get home....might just keep it stock and get a bluetooth adapter that i can hide

You don't *have to* replace the tweeters in the pillars. I ran all new wiring from my Alpine amp in the back to Alpine Type R 6.5"s in the doors. Sounds great despite the absence of tweeters.

The Bose speakers have a lower impendance than most headunits are rated for. In addition to sounding like crap, you risk damaging the amplifier(headunit).

You could get an amplifier adapter. Something similar to this:http://www.crutchfield.com/S-0...apterI've never used one of these so im not sure how it affects the sound quality.

In my opinion its well worth it to save up a little more $ and get some good quality speakers (and an amp)... and subs...

My 01 LE pathfinder had a bose, i would like to mention the cd changer went to S**T after about 2 years, and it sounded like total crap.

I just had a pioneer in-dash double din dvd installed into my QX4 yesterday @ bestbuy. I asked them if i needed to change out all of my speakers . FORTUNATLEY an old pal from high school was the Car Audio Dept. Manager and so he kept it real with me. He let me know that there was a converter available that enabled them to run the Pioneer with the stock Bose system. Just ask. I'm sure most places are just hiding that simple solution so that they can make more money when you guys purchase all brand new speakers because you "have to."

Bustarye,

I just spoke with Best Buy here in Ohio, and they stated that the only thing they can do with the BOSE system, to hook up to a Pioneer Head unit is to replace the speakers. Can you find out from high school friend ( who is the manager at Best Buy), what the part number is and who makes it so I can refer the local Best Buy team on what to consider vs. replacing my entire Speaker System. They want $84 to install front and rear, then I still have to buy the speakers. Thanks for the help.

Best buy sucks! Most of theior stuff they sell is garbage!! (but pioneer is good) Try a real stereo shop, watch, the answer will be much different!

Fueler,

Here is what Crutchfield came up with. The reviews look good.

No update. Just not familiar with this posting service. It created my original over again, so I went in to edit and deleted. Fueler if this is your board, feel free to delete this specific line.
