CD Player Read Error

1993 J30 - and the CD player accepts the disc, but gives an error trying to read it then spits it out.

Any ideas?

Pretty much every J30 has problems with the BOSE unit... Either get that one repaired for $175, or go aftermarket...

or get another bose in dash CD head unit (from like a G20, maxima, pathfinder).....

True!

But whats to say that you buy one, and it doesn't crap out 6 months later (like EVERY BOSE unit) haha - if you get it repaired, you get a warranty at least...

I just am unsure about picking up another BOSE unit, I mean it seems like the chances of these head units going bad are 98%

Relaly the bose head units were reliable... They never seem to go out on the Qs (except for like the tape players) and in other ones theyre fine... Its mainly just the J as far as i konw!

Mine did that ...I used a cd player cleaning CD and its fine since ..

A dusty lense will cause issues ..Also .. a burnt CD will act up around track 5 or 6

Mines the original unit and after 11 years still top notch ..6 Months ?? LOL
