CD player problem, disc read error.

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

i got my 08 ex35 about a year ago and yesterday when i put in my mp3 disc, the cd player won't read it and give me disc read error. i tried with audio disc and the same thing happened. I don't know what is wrong and wondering if you guys experience the same thing. my mp3 disc and audio disc are spotless and no scratches on them.

try playing the same disc in another player, maybe it was a bad burn

Two questions:

A. Are these CDRW discs by chance? Many players have trouble with CDRW media because they're less reflective than CD-R or pressed CDs.B. If not, are both problem discs the same "type" of media (brand/speed/vintage)? If so, there could simply be an incompatibility there.

A few troubleshooting ideas:

1. Try the same audio disc in a couple other players (especially another car) to see if it's problem-free. Likewise, try your MP3 disc in your home DVD player to see if it plays.2. Try a couple of commercial audio discs in your EX to see how it behaves.3. If you have any discs you KNOW played before, try those.

Thank you for your reply. those discs played in ex35 before and now they can't be played again. the audio disc i put in there was a commercial audio disc. what i haven't tried is put it into another cd player. i suspect that the laser got dirty but i don't know from what since my discs are spotless.

all sorts of debris could've gotten in, but try a different player first, then take it to infiniti lol
