Cd player install help

just spent all day installing speakers and a Sony cd player In an 89 240. I am not getting any sound from the front speakers. If I install the original radio I get sound but not from the Sony cd player. I assume the fronts are amplified and require power. The black power cable, does that also act as the antenna wire? Where can I find an adapter? Or is there another way to make the front speakers work

i would also assume they are amplified. i will assume you have an adapter for your stereo to connect to the original car harness... from my experience the wire from your new radio to turn on amplifiers (rem wire) should be blue with a white line in it, that turns on amps.... a stereo harness should do the trick if you dont have one..... another way is to just run new wire from the doors to the radio. hope it helps

hey hows it goin?? I have a '90 240sx and I've had about 4 different stereos in my car. They all have worked. I picked up an adapter at Walmart but there is only 1 problem with that harness. There is a pin in the adapter that is in the wrong spot. If u got the adapter and just popped off the top of the plug and move the pin it works fine. I dont remember exactly which pin it is but if u look at the stock connector and the adapter u can see which pin I'm talkin about. message me back if u need any more help.JBotch
