cd not sliding in

let me make one thing clear before i explain what's going on, the cd player its self works great, once the cd is in it reads it and never skips, here is what i bought,



the problem is the cd loading mechanism, that slides the cd into the player. i begin to insert the cd but once it is in a little, the "DISC" light lights up indicating that the cd is in yet the cd is still sitting there halfway out. The eject button works fine and when i press it it pushes the half-injected cd out. it worked a few times when i first got it but the loading mechanism seems to have givin in. i am willing to take it apart if necessary. any help is greatly appreciated

hmm i dunno, but the "directing traffic" trick did work for getting me to read this thread. LOL maybe just get a new double-din unit?

that does seem like the obvious solution but i don't exactly have money to dish out for a new unit
