ok i have done installs on american cars but this one is not working for me. 1. what wires go were. I did it how i do it on all hte other cars but still wont work. 2 what do fuse should i check maybe i blew it. HELP me please,

i just changed the head unit on my 90 and i had to do alot of work. i bought the wiring harness adapter and it didn't fit but luckily it came off another car and had that wiring harness also. so i had to cut all the wires and use half of both harnesses. you also need an antenna adapter or it won't work.

its been sometime since i installed mine but if i remember correctly they arent color coded? if not u should be able to tell the speaker wires from the power, ground and turn on switch considering these are usually power=red ground=black the turn on switch=blue... now u should have 8 wires left.. for for speakers i honestly dont think it matters which way hook them up.. u might just have ur rear speakers playing from your front speaker outputs but who honestly gives a sh*t.. and ya u should check the fuse.. if u had 2 wires accidently hit eachother than yup ur fuse is blown... just check it its pretty easy if i can do it.. if u still cannot get it to work let me kno and i will go rip mine out real fast and tell ya.. good luck .. peace

You can't just ask what wire is what. There is a lot more to it than that. What year 240sx do you have? Is the factory wiring harness still intact? If so, do you have an adaptor harness to install it with. There are some online resources that list the wire colors for most models, but I don't remember it off hand. Go to a stereo shop and ask them to look it up, if they're cool they will no charge.

Also.. most 240's have an active speaker system. Meaning, that they have seperate amps for all of the speakers. Newer models (s14) have one amp. If you don't have the remote power switch hooked up, you won't have any sound.

Your best bet is to rewire all 4 speakers, and use the factory power, memory, and ground wires. You will also need the antenna adaptor. Using the factory amps with an aftermarket deck leads to future prolems... and will definately blow your factory speakers in a short time if you play it loud.

umm thats exaclty what i did.. i have a 93 coupe and my radios been in there for about a year with now problems along with an amp and 2 twelves all installed by me.. i might bend the rules but my **** wurks.. i didnt even by the wiring harness.. i just took the one from the radio spliced the wires then spliced the orginal wires in the deck.. twisted them together wit some electrical tape and wala.. it wurked.. but yes u need the antenna plug and make sure u check the fuses.. if not.. u might need to run ur cd player turn on wire i believe its like the 12v wire straight to the radio fuse cause thats what i had to do.. it wouldnt come on for **** and i knew it was hooked up right so i just ran the blue wire all the way to the fuse box.. and wrapped it around the fuse.. it wurked fine ;-].. good luck again

ok i got it hooked up but i cant get it to turn on or off when i turn on or off my car. I have to turn if off manualy if my car keys are taken all the way out? what is this ?? i have a 89 240sx fast back

You have your ignition power line wired up to a constant power...fix it

green240yo its alot easier with the wire harness, what u just said had to take about forever, assuming it didnt work the first time.

around 15 minutes yo.. take that time to go to shop and buy one.. all u need is apair of sissors and tape ;-] and thats not the reason it never worked the 1st time.. and i told you hook ur on off switch to your fuse!..
