cd changer

My 1999 QX4 has a 6 cd changer that I cannot get to work, any suggestions ?Cd's are in correctly but the stereo says " no disc ". What's up ?Thanks, Jim

It sounds like a case of faulty equipment. I ditched my factory changer in both of my cars within the first month of owning them. I hate to say it, but most of the time, factory audio equipment isn't a auto makers primary concern. if there isn't anyone here that has found a fix for it, you can try and find another factory unit that isn't defective, but its likely that it will be down the road. I'm not trying to pee on your party or anything, but thats just the way it is sometimes.

Yea, unfortunately once the factory units start to act up in your case, its pretty much time to go aftermarket or find an oem replacement. If you go the replacement way, be prepared to spend a good chunk of change.

I have a friend that has a 2001 qx4 and the headunit has the 6 cd changer and it acts up once in a while. Its hit or miss with it, sometimes it works and majority or the time it doesn't.

As with sicwitit, I've changed my factory unit a month after buying the vehicle.
