I have the SL with the six CD changer. If I load all six slots with CD's I can't remember where each CD is and have to hunt all over to find the one I want to play. Does this unit have a way to identify where each cd is? A read out of title, artist etc. How can you remember where each cd is in each slot?

the DISP button on the radio will change the display output. It will tell things like file names, song names, etc... but not CD names. I usually remembered which disc was in which slot by the first track on each CD.

Actually, I checked yesterday and it does give the CD name, too, if the CD includes that feature. (I have one that shows up as "Album"!) And if you have an MP3 CD in it, it will show the CD name, the folder name, artist name and track/file name, depending on the setting of the DISP button. Made me glad I took the time to label everything with WinAmp before I burned my MP3 CD's!

Gee, my CD changer must need changed.

I have an SL, and when I hit the Display button, all that shows is T1, T2, T3. I haven't tried a burned CD yet. Maybe every CD track in my collection is labelled T T T T... I guess I must listen to excruciatingly boring music.

The actual CD needs to have this data on it, for your stereo to show it. The data is not put on every CD so it's pretty hit-and-miss.

The track info shows up on my computer and on my mp3 player, just not my cd player in the V. And yeah, I got the tech pkg. It must be just one of those glitchy things in life. Sigh.

Your computer is likely using something like CDDB to look up the track titles etc. Most CDs do not have CD text on them--I have maybe 3 or 4 altogether--and that is what the Versa CD player needs.
