My 02 Q45 CD Changer skips or hangs on the last couple of tracks of any CD, plays just fine on the first 8 or so tracks. This occurs while driving and even when parked with the engine off, so it’s not vibration. This problem just started, suddenly. I used a store bought CD Cleaner (the one with the tiny brush glued to the CD surface), and this did not help at all. I removed the changer and opened it up. It was surprisingly clean inside, all the sliding and moving parts had grease applied, nothing looked out of the ordinary to me. I did apply a small amount of white lithium grease to the jack-screw that drives the read head assembly, but this has not helped either. I priced a new CD changer at Sewell online, they cost $1,088. Is there a non-dealer site that sells these, or will refurbish? Anyone else had this trouble? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Larry.
