cd button on radio

'94 Q45 why do I have a cd button on the stock radio face if the radio has no cd player? Did there used to be one located in the trunk maybe or is that button just incase an owner would one day want to put in an aftermarket cd player? Thanks in advance for any info you can offer. This is my first Infiniti and man oh man do I ever like it.

the car is pre-wired for a changer in the trunk, so the button is there to go with the wires.

You mean CD changer not CD player, right?
