My CD Changer uses a radio station (88.7) on the factory stereo in my 94 Q. Is it possible to somehow wire it up to work when I press the "CD" button instead of using a radio station?

My guess is your car has an after market CD changer. The factory Bose HU CD button controlled ones were from Sony or Clarion.

What brand is yours?Does yours use an external control for disc/track changes?

Its a Sony brand 10disc CD changer that sits on the side of the trunk... I'll give you the model number as soon as I have a chance to look at it.

The remote control is also connected to the sony changer

The OEM Sony unit in the 94 should have no controls, beyond what's on the HU, and they all came pre-wired. Find an OEM Sony (many on here bash the Sony) or Clarion and it should plug right in.

On the '94 Q45t, a trunk mounted Sony 10 disc CD changer was standard.Mine did NOT have a remote, and played through the CD button on the factory radio. I don't think ANY factory 10 disc Sony CD changers had a remote.

The Sony 10 disc changer factory installed by Infiniti was known to be short lived, usually around 2 years was all one could get from them. They could NOT be repaired in the field, even by Sony warranty stations. They had to be sent back to Sony, who didn't actually repair them, they replaced them. It was expensive. That's why a lot of owners replaced the original CD changer with an aftermarket one. I suspect that may be the case in your '94 "t" model. I had to replace mine 3 times, once under warranty, twice at $275 each. Last time I did it, the Sony warranty shop told me that Sony was almost out of replacement units and they would soon be discontinued and NLA. Not sure if that actually happened though.

As for wiring your CD changer to work with the CD button on the radio, I suspect it may be possible, depending on whether your CD changer output is compatible with the Bose radio, which it may not be. One of the audio guys here should be able to advise you on that.

90-93's with a "Factory CD changer" had a remote, that was mounted in the center console near the arm rest.

I did not know that. Thanks for the correction. He IS talking about his '94 though, so something's amiss.

I still wonder why his changer won't play though the "CD" button though. Doesn't sound right.Something's wrong there.

Yeah, seems like a non-OEM after market add on. Could have even been from the dealer, just not an OEM supported piece.
