That's right. AZ residents can now carry without a permit. I just turned 21 too, so no class to take. WOOT!

And Suppressors are legal to own, so now you can kill your enemies in relative silence.

Well, the best for 9 months out of the year. The other 3 are a little like being in an oven, but it's bearable.

Yea I'm really happy we jumped on this. Makes thing so much easier and less of a hassle.

I actually got pulled over whilst carrying my XD45 compact two nights ago. The first thing he asked me when he walked up was if I had any weapons on me too. I just grinned and said "yup". He was pretty cool though. Wasn't super happy when I first told him I was armed though. :chuckle:

Did he tell you to get out of the car so he could get the gun or anything? I have heard about that happening over here.

Yea he made me get out just so he could get the gun off me. I didn't really care, he was taking precautions. It's sketchy down here around the border.

Don't you have to pay a "tax" stamp to purchase a suppressor? It's $200 in OR.
What are your Automatic weapon laws?

We can now carry concealed without a permit. Really concealed is the only way to carry. No one gets all bent out of shape about you having your weapon with you and if you need it you have it. Also the bad guys don't know who is armed and who is not so it makes it safer for everyone.

Arizona had a whole lot of CCW's already so I wonder how many more there are going to be.

In Arizona you can also take your gun into the bar with you!!!

But please don't move here, its very very hot and dry, scorpions and snakes everywhere. I killed 3 scorpions tonight one in the hall inside the house 2 under the trash can when I rolled it out to the street.....

That's what I meant by "carry". I figured people realized that it's already legal to open carry, just no concealed as of recently.

I don't know a lot of people are often surprised that you can walk around AZ with a loaded firearm and its perfectly legal. There are not a lot of states left that respect your right to bare arms or is it bear arms.... I forget

But yeah great law and thanks for the thread!

True. I forget a lot that other states didn't allow open carry without a permit. Damn, I take this state for granted a lot.

I own a home in AZ and plan on moving there in a few years so this affects me, and I'm really not sure I agree with it. There's a lot of wackjobs in the world, I know, and having CC without permit or safety training seems bad to me. All I see is more uneducated "gangstas" with pistols in their jackets. Time will tell I guess. I hope my neighborhood doesn't get all shot up..

I've always felt that PA has it just fine, where CC requires a License to Carry but open-carry requires nothing. Then again, this is a big hunting/republican state and we're more comfortable with guns.

See, this logic works if the state/country only contained law-abiding citizens. Those "gangstas" you're referring to couldn't care any less about permits. Regardless of the law, they're carrying and most likely concealed. Take Chicago (I have some knowledge since I basically live there) for example. You can't even obtain a license to own a handgun in the city. Now watch the news and see how many people are killed every day by handguns within the city limits. Because of the law, I would never own a handgun in the city (it's illegal). But the criminals clearly have no problems with it.

Adam nailed it. The people who are going to commit gun crimes couldn't care less about whether or not its legal for them to conceal their glock. Their breaking the law anyway, what's one more law broken? The only people who actually got permits for concealed carry were the law abiding citizens. So now that its legal to conceal carry without a permit, there will be more law abiding citizens armed. This is always a good thing.
