God I can't believe I'm making a build thread after seeing new 1 page ones everyday but I decided I finally have enough parts to make a thread. This is not an up to date thread but eventually it will be one.

Saw my first 240 at a local car meet and looked like it would be a blast (s13). So after lurking NICO for a few months I decided on ka24de hatch s13 but found some cleannnnn S14's for reasonable. Some guy in Miami was trying to play games with me on a clean concord gray one and the miles didn't match up with carfax yadda yadda.... So I found a burgundy one in SC that I picked up. Completely stock, pictar time1!!1!!one

Thanks man. Was almost convinced to buy a red s13 like the one in your sig.

Anyways just a little update. Driving the car feels great and it's actually not as slow as I anticipated it being. Still fairly slow though but it's all good. :mike

So as I'm inspecting the car I finally make my way to the trunk. The trunk light just needs to be replaced and I'm not exactly sure what the trunk is supposed to look like but I'm pretty sure somethings missing ie: somekind of floorboard. It just goes carpet then spare tire underneath.

No rust! :woot:

My Solution to no trunk board....

I had a lot of pictures on my old laptop that crashed so I lost a lottttttttt of pictures. I figured if I start a build thread at least I'll have the pictures stored on here :/

That's all for today

No pics yet for this update but I just ran a compression test .... Well 140 is minimum spec, 160 is ok, and 180 is good. First two cylinders were 160 and second two were 180. So we put some oil in the first one and it got 180. Piston rings maybe? idk. Second one we tested again without oil and it got 180 on it's own so only the first cylinder has a problem.

Next I went to a drive in meet at advance which had a good 80 people. About 25 nissan people  and a lot of sick ls2 gto's and the usual mustangs etc it's a car meet. Had my views completely changed on what I want to do and have completely decided to go sr20det. Soooo conveniently my bottom backseat is ripped (leather) and a guy only had the bottom one cause he gutted his s14 and he's giving it to me for 20 bucks. I also picked up some new ngk plugs.

Nothing big but got something accomplished. I wish I would've taken pics at the meet but I didn't...... So I also have a job and job=money=parts=build thread=everybody happy

EDIT: Found some pics

Remember that 1st cylinder mentioned above with bad compression, well let's just say I did an auto x with an oil leak that I didn't notice and spun a rod bearing. So I tore down the engine, and took a look. After having a look I ordered a new water pump and oil pump. O yeah almost forgot, I ordered some Arias 8.8:1 Forged Pistons, AMS Sportsman Series Rods, Clevite Main and Rod Bearings, and Fel-pro Full Engine Gasket Set. Also a little ebrake button so I can try and get down and dirty hehe.

I don't actually have any pictures from the teardown except for as soon as I took the valve cover off :/

Waiting for the goods to arive :D

Someone's done a cam swap on your car. You have an exhaust cam on the intake side and an intake cam on the exhaust side. Probably a 248/240 setup. Btw thought you were swapping to an sr? Why build the KA? Decided to go the KA-T route instead?

Damn you got me haha. This build is delayed and im currently posting stuff that happened a long time ago so the time between posts and how much time in between the actual events are different. If that makes sense, so I had a bunch of time to weigh my options for sr vs. Ka and the ka prevailed.

Are you sure the cams are backwards though? Then again I wouldn't be suprised. I found out my car was wrecked and repainted and that apprently mu BMC isn't the stock one. (Will get pics later)

BMC looks factory, cams are definitely swapped though. See how the cam on the intake side has an orange stripe and the exhaust side cam has a green stripe? That backwards from factory. Either the engine's been rebuilt and the guy didn't know what he was doing, or more likely, they did a 248 (S13 exhaust cam) 240 (S13 intake cam) swap. The swap gives you a tad more power over stock.

Damn I just had the valve cover off the other day getting it painted. SPOILER kinda. The picture was before the build so I wonder if that guy that built it left them or switched them back? I'll have to check. My valves are tapping so idk.

I drifted my car right into a bike path stop sign at about 2 in the morning. Luckily my car was all right. I did buy a new mishimoto radiator though.

I need new tires now too

Looks like a good build. What compression pistons are you running and did you order your turbo yet.

Arias 8.8:1 pistons. I didn't notice a gain or a loss after installing them but I also didn't drive my car for about 3 months while it was being built so I probably forgot what the original power felt like. And stay tuned for boost :mike

I wish I had pictures for these next parts when they were new but unfortunately I lost them on my old computer. I was looking under my car one day when it was on a lift and noticed that the bushing in the tension rods up front had rotted and started cracking to the point where I had two separate bushings per tension rods. So rather than getting new bushing I just went ahead and got the SPL V3 Tension rods and what a difference. My steering felt just a whole lot better. For those who used to play killzone 2, do you remember the dead zone when aiming? That was my steering before. Anyways onto the pictures of what else i got too

I can't get pictures of them in the bay yet because my camera just died and i dont have the charger so tomorrow.
