I am from up north too and I know that the current conditions were not blizzard like but the roads were bad, can't expect much for snow plows in Kentucky. And caught in a blizzard as a post is a cood attention grabber. Anyways, currently there is an actual blizzard outside.smockers83 wrote:And I hope I don't come across as a jerk, but that's not a blizzard...you can still see 100s of feet down the road. Looks like snow flurries to me
I just got back from taking my wife to work (Nortons Hosp in downtown L'ville). No roads have seen a plow from what I can tell. Wish I could slap the crap out of some of the truck owners as they seem to forget there are cars trying to share the road with themTJMaxx98 wrote:Glad you are ok...It's pretty bad down here in Louisville too. Our I30 even had some problems getting around town during the evening hours of the snow storm...would you believe there was lighting and thunder? Look on the bright side...next week it will be 60 and all the snow will be gone!!
telco, if you're talking about the pictures I posted, those are from last winter and I'm basically in Canada...we talk like them and we have the same weather. Some of you cunucks from Ontario might have gotten this storm last winter.telcoman wrote:

Does it offend you if someone mistakes you for a Canuck?smockers83 wrote:Yes, almost a canuck. I can't tell you how many people have asked me if I'm from Canada or when I tell them where I'm from, they think its part of Canada and not the US... hence my sig.

I feel your pain...i don't drive mine in these conditions either but got stuck in one of these situations last month too (I didn't go off the road but it was still a terrible experience nonetheless) The main point is thank god you and the car are okay.TurboDurbo wrote:Yeah that's why I haven't driven it all winter. Maybe my next set will be all seasons so this doesn't happen again. The summer tires are really nice when it's hot though. At least there was no damage.
Speaking of depictions on TV, ever see the thing on ESPN awhile back about the high school mascot that was the Nimrods? Yeah, that's 2 hours away from me...and there's a reality type show I guess on the Sundance Channel about the same town (Watersmeet) that depicts us Yoopers as huge rednecks. Granted a lot of them are, but whatever.G_whizz wrote:Just because some of our gay TV shows are horrible and depicts Canadiens as Rednecks living in igloos..lol
