Hey guys! longtime no talk. I was reminiscing the good old days when I had my 08 coupe, posting here everyday and always on the lookout for the bleeding edge infos on modding and tunning the car. each years with sema's new stuff, carlilsle, and each new model year wondering what would nissan change on the car. Good times, a little bit OCD but still, good times! I don't know how many of the old timers are still here.

just wanted to know what you are all up to.

me i'm half way there to becoming a Physician, and I'm studying most of the time. I've changed house. also changed car, twice.
the old guys must remember my Byebye AC thread 3years ago, and know that I've had sold the car and gotten into a 6MT cayman S 06. SO many good memories of doing crazy roadtrips with that car. it'll hold a special place in my heart next to my very first car, the altima coupe 3.5SE 08. Recently, I've jumped on a deal too good to pass. and I've just recently acquired a 2012 Audi R8 6MT. I've only done maybe 200kms with it, but from what I've driven, I know that this summer it's going to be a blast when I'm in vacation.

here are some pictures.

yeah, picture overload, my bad, I'm just very excited with this new car haha.

anyways, wanted to catch up a little with the guys, I know that brian got married, and that daryl Is making professionally some projector retrofits. what about tyler, and Doc and, matt (Phenom), hussein, mike, and everyone else I'm forgetting about? :D

new car? new jobs? health? what's up? :bigthumb:

Never really come back on the forums often but saw your post on Facebook. Not sure you will remember the name, but I remember never being able to say yours, haha. You were the man from Canada with the Blue Coupe and Photoshop skills!

Sweet new ride!!

So what was the second car between the Cayman and the R8, or you saying 1. Altima Coupe and 2. Cayman? So have you changed girlfriends too, or you still with the hot blond? Someone correct me if I'm getting him confused with someone else, but matt (Phenom) lost his coupe to Hurricane Sandy, DOC (the illumination kick plate guy right?) I don't think he's been around in years and Hussein's still around. I think that like most forums due to facebook the traffic on this forum seems to be down; since there ready hasn't been anything new come out for or car's in years, and also since it appears the Altima Coupe is walking the green mile there doesn't seem to be much to discuss.

I'm with you; the GT-R is very fast, but in my opinion that's all it's got going for it. I think it's the worst looking car of its class, and I'd go as far as saying the Z and G are better looking car's than the GT-R. I'd go R8 over GT-R too.

I'd choose R8 over GT-R, but I disagree with you about it being the worst looking car of its class. I think the R8 looks like a bigger Porsche Cayman lol, the GT-R looks aggressive af. Like if a Charger and a 370z had a baby, they'd make a GT-R =]

I kind of get what your saying about the GT-R, I don't like it all that much when it's stock.. but with some work it can look amazing Image

That being said the R8 is still an amazing car. Great buy.

I remember when you started med school, you said you're halfway done so residency yet or 4th year student? What field are you going in to? I'm starting medical school in the fall and I already wish I was halfway done lol

Anyway, great to hear from you and good luck!

I'd take the GT-R any day of the week lol. You wanna talk numbers or just luxury? The R8 is sexy af but the Japanese know how to build a race car better lol.

Anyways let's not get this offtopic, baller upgrade either way man!

Hey, glad most of you are still around as well.

Update:

1. 09 Altima 2.5 Turbo is still kicking. Will be paid off in December! lol...
2. Just bought a 2013 Kawasaki Ninja 300 for the summer so that will be a blast (first year on a bike, don't knock the 300...lol).

4th year student! lol I just want to finish soon and make a family as fast as I can. then after a couple of years if I don't like being a general physician I'll specialize into something like dermato or anesthesiology

Nice turbo FTW! living the dream like a bosss! the kawasaki ninja is very cool, my dad had a year 2000ish ninja and it was very very fast! super car fast. you got ballz, I'm way too sacred to ride one ha. :bigthumb:

I think both nissan and audi know how to make a race car but the gt-r and R8 both have their focus set on something different. R8 is grand touring luxury with gobs of style and mid engined poise with great enjoyment found in it's easy oversteer. Gtr is a benchmark maker with surgical precision and track defying skills with a no compromise track type ride and minimalist driver focused cabin. only thing they have vaguely in in common is being able to power each one of the 4 wheels.

here's a nice vid that just came out from motor trend like one week ago comparing the two and they definitly came to the same conclusion I did http://youtu.be/noEZL3hWk5o

I've never heard of a med student who had money to afford nice cars, unless he was indebted for life! You must have done all the right things to enjoy life like that! I'm actually going backward automotive wise. I'm selling my mostly stock coupe and literally an hour ago bought a 98 Altima GXE with 200k miles for the MPG's and +2 doors, because of the recent +1 in the family. Haha.

Hello mcheddadi! You know it's funny, back when you had your car and on here, I thought you were a chick due to the photo of your gf as your avatar.

Then I learned that wasn't the case, lol.

Nice R8 for sure although I do prefer the GTR in looks but hey, looks are quite subjective so that really doesn't matter. :P

Thread of WIN.

So I hate you in your one-upper-ness, Mehdi. I am also stoked for you and your progress, so congratulations! You best bring the R8 to Carlisle next year, because I'm finally going to make my Carlisle debut in 2014.

Stop in more often, whydoncha?! They're going to kill the Altima Coupe next year anyway so we can just heckle in this forum for a while. and +1 on the 6MT over the GT-R. 100% with ya. And a GT-R doesn't even compare looks-wise.

Just truckin along here. I have two cars whose MSRP add up to less than half of your R8 :gapteeth:, and neither of them are an Altima. I'll have pictures up sometime soon. One of them is filthy levels of dirty and the other just got past break-in mileage :)
