Where should my catch can be plumbed, and how should the crank breather hoses be setup? I've searched on here and on sxoc, and found some differing opinions.

Right now I have the pipe on the front on the intake side of the valve cover plumbed to the PCV. The intake side back pipe goes to a catch can, which vents to atmosphere with a small filter. The exhaust side back pipe has a breather filter on it. I've never seen any oil on the filters, or in the catch can or hoses...which leads me to believe that either it's not venting like it should, or it's just not blowing out any oil.

I've also heard something about removing/blocking off the PCV. How is that done?

Thanks

To me it looks like you can just run a hose off of one valve cover to a catch can with a breather filter on it and get rid of the PCV valve and plug everything else, can anyone verify this?

Mines between the drivers side valve cover and the turbo inlet. The PCV system works kinda weird on a forced induction vehicle. Under vaccumm the gases travel out of the passenger side valve cover and directly into the intake mani. Once it come onto boost, it does the opposite. It travles out of the drivers side valve cover and into the intake (suction) side of the turbo. The gasses are then blown into the intake mani. Since most of the oil that is placed into the crankcase ventilation system is at high rpms when the motor is on boost, I felt the best place to put it was on the suction side of the turbo. Since I have bad rings, i get a lot of blow-by, and mine fills up quite quickly, so I know it's working well. I haven't pulled the intake mani yet to see how oiled up it is, but hopefully, it' not too bad.
