Few questions...the turbo will be going on soon so i need to know if its safe to have the Idle Air Control Valve hose routed into the cold pipe? Or should i re-route the pipe to go into the air intake pipe between the maf and turbo? the idea of boost being shoved into it kinda makes me think it might make it go out. but then again i dont think it would hurt it really...so some insight on this would be nice

next question - The hose that goes to the valve cover...i dont want to shove boost into the crank case so im going to hook up a catch can system to that. The pcv valve system, there are 4 small hoses off the bottom of the intake manifold that go into a metal tube then that goes into the metal box that is bolted by 3 bolts to the lower front timing cover/oil pump cover. Is that metal box a 1 way valve or when i go into boost will boost go thru those 4 hoses and into the front timing chain cover/into the engine. Because i dont want boost pressure in my crankcase at all. Last motor i did that on it kinda ****ed some things up. So should i plug up the holes on the bottom of the intake manifold and re-route a new hose from the front timing chain cover to the catch can? please help me out...i need to know what to do with this thing.

For idle line: Most people connect the line to the coldpipe. It won't cause leaking because when you're boosing, you have pressure on the valve through the hose, but you also have pressure on the other side of the valve, from the manifold. So it neutralizes. If you have the line routed to the intake, you have pressure against the valve from the manifold when you're boosting. That may cause leaks, if it happens.

I've seen them mounted both ways, so it probably doesn't even matter.

As for those 4 lines..

I believe 2 of them go to the IAV, which is some unimportant emissions thing(and is removed with kat). You can plug those.

The other 2 lines are for the carbon canister. The carbon canister is more important because it releases high pressure gas vapors safely into the manifold.

I don't think any of those 4 lines to go the crankcase... at least not on s13's.

well when i pulled my motor to rebuild it...there are 4 small rubber hoses that go from the bottom of each intake manifold runner to a metal pipe..then the metal pipe goes to a small single rubber hose then that goes into this metal box that bolts to the front timing cover...i need to know really if i should remove all that...hook up the lil metal box to a catch can and plug the holes on the bottom of the intake manifold...

cap the ports on each runner. remove the POS brass distribution tube. run the PCV (lil black box like u said near front timing cover) to a catch can. and then connect the other nipple on the catch can to your intake pipe (between mafs and compressor). then put a breather filter on the valve cover and you'll be set.

otherwise, leave it stock and make sure its leak free.
