Hi,

i'm living in France, so here every S13 came with the CA18DET motor. The problem is that either on ebay or stores on the internet when buying parts they only give references for SR20DET motors most of time.

So i have 2 questions for U guys about compatibility.

1- will a catback exhaust like a blitz nur or an apexi gt spec fit a s13 with CA motor with no modifications.

2- My car is from 89, she has no cat. Did the catback exhaust fit or should i have to buy a front pipe + de-cat pipe or a longer front pipe eliminating the cat. Do U have any brand/models to suggest ?

The fact is that i can buy it in UK for CA(they also run CA in UK) but its much more expensive there, prefer to buy it in USA if i can.

Thanks,

I read lot of threads here, i believe there is no post about it, if not, sorry for not finding on the search engine.

Ludo.

Any exhaust for the SR20DET will work as far as cat back is concerned. You will need a de-cat pipe as you guessed. The tricky part is the oxygen sensor housing and downpipe (b-pipe). You have to run either both CA specific or both SR specific.

Ok thanks.

in UK U can buy a downpipe longer that connect directly to a catback apparently.

But dont know if its a staight fit and have to find out if the diameter will be the same as the catback exhaust.

Also coming with a silencer:

Where did you find those two at? They look like they would work fine, with the resonator at the end being the only difference. Most cat-backs will bolt up and probably will only need very little modification. No biggie.

Heres a few shots of how i did mine, 92 240sx w/ ca18, but my piping has a few bends and its seperate. My pieces didnt fit or "bolt right in" so the bracket for the trans mount had to be cut and welded. It fits nicely now. Parts are more expensive there than here in the USA? But all your S13s came with CAs! I dont get it.

davidricardo86: Those parts come from an UK website: apex performance parts

Nice pics, thanks, it help. I see U used megan racing parts, where did U buy it ?

Well, parts are more expensive in europe for several reasons, 1- tuning in europe isnt a big market for import car, people here does ricy tuning on european cars. Japanese cars arnt so much used, so hard to find parts. Rare = more expensive. Most stores just buy parts from US and Japan.2- In the US, the market is big, concurence mean lower price than in europe, especially on ebay, even after paying big shiiping cost, its still cheaper than here.3- 1 euro is 1,34 dollars, meaning i gat 30% reduction on US parts

i know exactly what you mean about the euro rate ludo. i am in germany. i just bought the buddy club spec II exhaust system on http://www.nopionline.com. paid 350 or so shipped. not sure about shipping to france though. it bolted right up no problem at all. just had to drill out the studs on the cat. you should be ok as the down pipe should extend to where the cat would end and rest of exhaust starts. i can say it is a fairly loud system. no mufflers. just a resonator and 3 inch piping all the way back. really makes a difference up top though in the rev range. engine is a lot more will to rev. hope this helps

Welcome to NICO!

I was just in France and I noticed the dismal lack of the automotive performance industry... The exchange rates are definitely in your favor these days, take advantage of it!

Well i got those parts from http://www.hopupracing.com and http://www.intensepower.com.

You should be able to do a Yahoo or Google search for these parts. Obviously you want to look for websites that are based in the United States so make sure you are looking in the right places. Other than that, you shouldnt have a problem finding these parts.
