Im thinking about geting a Catback Exhaust but want to get the best opinion on which one would work best for me. Im looking to go with a 3". My KA is pretty much stock but will be getting turbo in a couple of months.

you dont wanna put a 3" exhuast on a stock car. I suggest you wait til you get the turbo and actually need the exhuast. Its not gonna do you much good, if it does any good right now.

Well, everyone else in the world has said that you will be sacrificing some low end, especially with 3". I went from stock to 2.5 and I did notice a bit less torque, but nicer mid-range and top-end. Three inches is indeed overkill on NA street driving but if you're going turbo soon, go ahead and get it so you can save yourself from having to buy two separate exhausts. ;)

Fresh Alloy forums are down (Gee, what else is new?) but when theyre back up, check out the links on the first post of this page. It shows little to no loss of low-mid power and gains of 12.2 hp. Everyone else in the world was going on what they assumed to be true and didn't have any dynos to back it up, im not blaming them, but here is a dyno sheet saying otherwise.

That's Alex's (of 5zigen-USA) install of the pro-racer exhaust I've got on my car. That's a 70mm, not a 80mm pipe. It's the one with the iconel burnt tip all stainless exhaust. Reason I know that is because that's the same chart Alex showed me when I was deciding on buying the proracer.

"I personally have the turbo version (80mm piping) in anticipation of "future project(s)", and because I didn't want to go deaf I installed an inner silencer (even though it does not come with one)."

both are good exhaust manufactuers. look at the different exhausts they make and choose a version that fits your style and price range. i am personally going with a 80mm exhaust mostly because i will be going turbo soon and because this test proves that using a large turbo sized exhaust will not always make you loose low end torque but its up to you what size you want

Personally I'd say go with the 5zigen. Just because it's all stainless (won't rust). The 70mm is a good balance for either turbo or not. It does however come out pretty straight back so that might not be the look you're looking for. N1 is a common exhaust for the s13's and s14's just because they're a street proven exhaust. The proracer is more expensive but I think it's got a better build than the N1 regardless of the 70mm piping. Just for thoughts, the Kei Office's exhaust for the s14 is 70mm.

Dunno, never did that personally. I hear alot of people say that they lose some low end with a test pipe. If you're in a region where the cops would check for a catalytic converter, I'd probably just keep it on. Here in CA the fine is $1,400 according to my buddy when his wrx got pulled over and the cop wrote him up for not having a cat. Another thing to consider, is this: If you put a test pipe on, it's just a matter of time before the air in your area will get polluted (chances are you're not the only one with a test pipe) and the emissions policies will change to try to correct that. Also it's just better for mother nature. So that's your call from there.

You might also want to check out BRM. They pride themselves in as non ricey as possible exhausts.

My personal fav is the 5-Zigen Border III 70mm exhuast. And no gigantic tip either (though you might prefer one). Either that or the Blitz Realize TT. It's 76.5mm making a nice compromise between 70 and 80mm. http://www.store.yahoo.com/pha....html

This might help you pick what you want....I personally have Apexi N-1 Dual, and it is very nice and satisfies me in every way. I pick this one because of look and performance, especially sound of it. Some of fancy exhaust performs as good as this model but they sounds like one of those cheap muffler on Civics. Also, this one is made for 240sx and rx-7 only. Best part is ground clearance is way better compare to other models especially ur ride gotten lowered.

Here some infos.....Good luck!!http://www.zilvia.net/reviews/...at=28Sound of some exhaust....I think N-1 dual sounds best out of these...http://www.zilvia.net/faqs/faqs.asp

Im working on a KAT right now, and i went ahead and bought the Greddy/trust Evo II exhaust ($$) but i got it for a deal that i couldnt pass up. I put it on a while back, and it was tremendously loud. so i took it off for the time being until i can get a silencer..

nicer top end, a bit worse low end.
