this is about sound more then anything. Duel n1's i hear people say really loud. But i just want a descent quiet noise but with some grunt. Someone was saying they bought the RS*R street exhaust and was quiet.

I like that quiet and agressive. Now the RS*R picture posted makes it look like an axle back not a catback. I was also looking at the blitz realise TT series.

Responses would be loooveeelllyyyyyyyy

does sr20det exhaust fit the ka24?

I wasn't sure if something was different about it. I would think it wouldn't matter due to it still takes the same path as the stock and still hooks up to the cat at the same spot.....

did i just answer my own question? :P

Yes. Any exhaust denoted for use with the SR20 engine, will also work on your KA24. Just keep in mind that one is turbocharged, and the other's N/A. Turbo's naturally muffle the exhaust tone so buying an exhaust with huge 3-inch piping (designed for turbo), will sound significantly louder on a N/A car. But you do have quite a few options...

- RS-R ExMag catback (not axle-back)80mm piping (little more than 3", but due to muffler canister and tip design, should sound fine on N/A cars)$540 from Phase2

- 5Zigen Border-III70mm (turbo) and 60mm piping (N/A), 115mm tip$465 (60mm) $565 (70mm) from Phase2

- 5Zigen Cannonball80mm (turbo) and 70mm piping (N/A) Silmilar to Border-III, but w/ slightly larger piping and tip (130mm)$608 (70mm) $680 (80mm) from RareTrick

- HKS Silent HiPower75mm piping, 120mm tipListin to a clip! (not sure what car/engine though) http://www.hks-power.co.jp/pro....html#$645 from TakaKaira

- Blitz Realize-TT76.5mm piping (3") Still, like the other exhuasts, shouldn't sound too loud...$578 from Phase2

So, yeah. Take your pick.

The Silent HiPower does look a lot like the Spoon Circuit exhaust for EG6's and EK9's. Personally, I like the Border-III the best and would probably pick that out of all the others. Looks the best, all stainless, and a decent size (70mm). At least the turbo version seems like a good median betweent the 60 and 80mm exhuasts.

Oh, and I'm not the one with the RS-R ExMag. Hell, I don't even have a 240! (though I REALLY want one )

Do me a favor: kill your friend. I've been looking for a S13 coupe for the past five months, and still haven't had any luck. Hopefully I'll find one soon...

edit: Oh, and good choice on the exhaust.

i have the n1 dual, it was quiet till it rusted out, still haven't heard a better sounding exhaust on the KA, no1 has had the rusting problem except me that i know of.

Get the BRM, i installed one and have heard it many times, it sounds BADASS, really makes the KA sound mean, also... the guy who owns NICO owns BRM (AZHITMAN) !!! so get one, they are awesome and come in both aluminized and stainless options... u can tailor it to your tastes, just email AZHitman!

I have the Rs-r exmag (street), friends like it, I like it. I have an ka24de and it makes a nice deep sound. Doesn't really sound like the hondas that I have to hear every week and looks normal. Though alittle loud, thats what you get with 3.15 inch on an n/a engine. The sound on mine is kinda strange, cat leak, so I have to wait till my new cat comes in. Nices thing I've gotten so far. Well spent, i got it for 516 shipped.

That "halfassed website" is what helps me keep costs down.

If the "big boys" used the materials/construction that I do, they wouldn't be able to afford those fancy websites (or you'd pay even more for questionable quality).

All BRM purchases are done via PayPal, FAR more secure than any "shopping cart" or giving your CC number over the phone.

Hey Greg, do you only do exhausts or do you make exhaust manifolds too? I'm looking to get one around spring time.

DTW - no manifolds, sorry man.

180 - We're working on getting sound clips up on the site. Problem is, they don't replicate very well (low frequencies are hard to realistically duplicate on most PC speakers, so you don't get a true feel for how good they sound).

Will they replicate nicely on a logitech z680 because that is what I have =)? What are some good quiet exhausts for an rb25. I live in SoCal and getting pulled over for a loud exhaust and then having the cop check under the hood would be death for me. I just need something that'll look nice, give me a little extra power, but not too loud as to get me into trouble.

Are there any other ones that have dual tips? I personally think dual tips look best on a s14. I wanted to get the N1's but from what people say, they are too loud for me. How well do the apexi silencers work and how do they work? If they work, then they might work for me. Mid to high end torque sounds perfect for me.

No one else (to my knowledge) makes a dual-tip setup for the 240.

Any exhaust that requires a silencer is not worth the money you spend on it.

I've said this a hundred times: Companies build a straight-through system, and dyno test it. They publish all these outrageous HP figures, and you think you're getting a lot of bang for your buck.

Then you realize that you can't run this exhaust w/o the silencer, so you add it in. And guess what? You now have a 2" restriction in your big 3" exhaust, which puts you right back where you were before.

There's a REASON that Nissan uses reflected-wave exhaust tech (i.e., resonators). It's the best design.

How much louder are the Dual N1's compared to stock exhausts assuming the stock ones are on the KA and the N1's will be on a RB25? Also how well do the N1's work? If they don't work very well, then I might just have to go with the single tip design and get something else. Keep in mind I live in SoCal and having a loud exhaust get me into some trouble. If the N1's are loud but still quiet enough to keep me away from trouble then its fine with me.
