I'm just about done with my 5speed swap, so while I had the pipes off, I decided to get a straight/test pipe thanks to living in Florida where no one cares.

Anyways, I "ebayed" one and the pipe is just under 2" too short compared to the stock one. The seller says there is no way the wrong one was shipped and to take it to a shop and have it cut and welded when in his listing said "direct bolt-on" "no modification necessary" !!!!! He won't take it back!

So does anyone ACTUALLY KNOW FOR SURE, not "THINK" that you know, if the verts have a longer cat? Or do the 95-98's have a shorter cat and maybe that's what I was shipped?

The vert is a coupe in disguise. you got the wrong cat and if you had to go to a shop to do any custom work, you could have just had them (the shop) make you a test pipe....and it would be cheaper. Less work.

Dude - what was the EbayID of the seller? I hate dealing with asses on Ebay...

Hi name is D1performance. Honest to God I was so pissed because the auction states no MODIFICATION needed, and then he uses the same damn word in his email... "go get it modified at a shop...". I couldn't believe it! Straight up LIAR! And with shipping, it was only $30, but to have paypal retract my money is a $25 fee!!! So I'm screwed!!!

Money was taken out from your checking account or credit card? If it was from the credit card, file claim through credit card company. I've learned that's much easier than going through Paypal.

Nah, money came straight out of my paypal account. The seller is offering me a refund, but I have to pay $10 shipping to get it back to California from Florida! So I'll be paying $20 in total for no pipe, Or $30 for a pipe that doesn't fit!!! I won't pay shipping, but I'm not paying to have this pipe cut and extended.

I am 100 percent entirely sure the cat is the same I guarantee it. I have a project silvia resonated test pipe, it fit my coupe fine. fits my vert fine too.

What is the length of this test pipe? 2" too short is REALLY OFF.

It may end up costing you less just to keep it and getting it extended...

There's no play w/ the catback exhaust to get it to extend backward a little?

Yeah, I'm gonna try to just pull the stock exhaust back to fit.

if it pulls it in too much you can always weld on a 6" diameter chrome diesel tip.
