Hi,
2014 Q60s 65k miles.

I found an exhaust rattle on the passenger side near the catalytic converter, specifically where a bracket connects to the cat and transmission..
It seems to have broken off the cat.
I've been driving with that broken bracket for 1.5 years and don't seem to have any issue other than the bracket rubbing against the cat making an annoying sound at 30mph and low rpm.
Wondering if I can just cut off a few inches of that bracket where it's rubbing against the cat, as it's still secured to the transmission and drivers side cat, the o2 sensor and wires are still held in neatly.
Not sure if it can be welded back on or if JB Weld could hold it but cutting it seems helpful. Definitely not looking to replace the cat given it's price.

What do you think?

Yep. I'd lop it off.

Considering it looks like you live in a rust area, the rest of the exhaust will be toast long before that bracket's absence matters.

Welding rusty metal isn't easy (or recommended).
