Hi i had an event that bent my front control arm and some other stuff in the passanger side.

After 3 weeks i finally had the resources to fix it, went to a yunkyard and got a control arm, me and my friend "bent back" in its place the steering thing that attaches to the wheel hub. and put the tension rods back on (even both are shot to hell).

Went to an alignment and my caster in one wheel (drivers)is 7.14 and on the other wheel is 2.43 degrees.

do replacing shot control rods bushings help?

Do pillow mounts help adjust caster?

What would be the ideal Caster for high speed stablility???

I have more questions but please help me with this first

a caster difference of 5?!??!?!? holly crap. make sure your frame isnt bent dude, then go replace the tension rods with adjustable ones form STILLEN, so you CAN adjust the caster(a little, not 5 degrees I dont think...) if that doesnt work, somethine else is messed up, like maybe the control arm on the other side, or something....

i screw up is not 5 degrees sorry is 7.xx Positive on the drivers side and 4.xx on the other side for a TOTAL of 2.43 degrees still a lot since i read that more then .5 degrees off and you feel the difference.

I think the stillen adjustable units can fix that, if its 2.4 or so....go check the stillen website (http://www.stillen.com) and see, I know a guy who has them on his 300ZX twin turbo and it fixed a caster split of 1.5!

give it a shot, and I'd still make sure your frame is straight (my 300zx had to be re-pulled after a road atlanta incident..)

the alignment guy mention something about re-pulling it, what is that? what exactly do they Pull?

Also again what is the best Caster spec i should be (or at least stock spec)

i know it shouldnt be .5 apart from left to right but what about the actual caster parameter, how does it affect suspension work.

Thanks

when the re-pull it they are straightening your frame. they pull your car onto a big machine that has hydralics and chains on it. then they will attach some frame measuring tools onto about 3 places under your car. these places are built into the car and are really just small holes. then they will look down underneath your car from the front of your car and will see if they all 3 line up. if they dont then your frame has to be straightend. they will hook up chains to your frame and slow pull on the frame until it is straight again. im not sure how much it would cost to re-straighten your frame. but a bent frame isnt a good thing to have.

Apart from stillen where is a good place to find adjustable TC Rods? i searched but came out empty and i really cant talk for prices to the US, and i don't know the e-mail from stillen.

also before the accident my caster was 5.34 drivers side and 5.64 passanger side. (.3 difference) was perfect but does it matter what is the final value for each side?
